From the archive: We look back on 2021's TudorFest...
The Tudor period was about so much more than kings, queens and royal scandal. Back in 2021, we hosted TudorFest at the British Library, London. This special day of talks and discussions delved into rich alternative histories from the Tudor period to explore England in a global context, unravel the symbolism of jewels and restrictive sumptuary laws, highlight the Black presence in England, investigate often obscured LGBT+ histories and detail how mobility and movement across the known world shaped perceptions of humanity.
